Getting app downloads can be a difficult journey sometimes. You may be wondering what goes through the mind of your customers when they are consider downloading apps. The answer is quite simple: INCENTIVE! By offering special incentives for people to become users of the app, you can quickly create a momentum of downloads.
The first step to an effective discount promotion is to actually create your discount code. To do this, go to https://shopify.com/admin/discounts and click Create discount.
After that, go to https://tapcart.co/customize and find Store Settings. Here, you will see a section called Custom discount message. Here, you will enter a custom message that includes the discount code you created in the previous step.
The result of this is found in your app right away.
So now the question is: what kind of incentives work?
1. Offer a discount or a giveaway when the app is downloaded
A discount on purchases is a great way to motivate people to download your app. Either create a discount code or manually lower the prices for a limited time. Just make sure you limit it to the app only.
2. Offer a Sweepstakes
Just like discounts a sweepstakes could be a big incentive to increase customer app downloads. This one is less loss on you however because you only have to give out one prize!
3. Make Use of National Holidays
National unicorn day? National Lumpy rug day? There seems to be a National holiday for everything these days. Why not use one of these to promote your brand and generate some revenue at the same time. Don’t think there’s national holiday out there for you? I promise there is. Sell women's wear? March 6th National wear a dress day. Sell organic bed sheets? Own a skincare line? September is national skincare month!
4. Offer a featured Item of the week
Highlighting a different item each week and offering lets say a 10% discount with it will draw consumers attentions to the item and your app. It is something to look forward to and allows you to make updates and send push notifications through your app to remind your consumers of it.
